Snow Hill, MD – Development Review and Permitting (DRP), in partnership with Geographic Information Systems staff, launched an interactive webmap that makes it easier for residents to follow rezoning applications as they move through the public review process.
“This resource gives residents an opportunity to learn about rezoning applications before a public hearing is scheduled and to follow each case as it progresses,” DRP Director Jennifer Keener said. “Our goal is to make the process easier to understand and provide convenient access to information residents need to stay informed about land-use matters affecting their communities.”
The interactive webmap displays the locations of active and pending County rezoning cases. By selecting a case on the map, users can view available documents, including applications, staff reports and findings, as they are added throughout the review process.
The map currently includes rezoning cases submitted during the past five years and will be updated as cases advance through the review process.
The new Rezoning Applications webpage also outlines steps involved in a rezoning, anticipated review timelines, public-notification requirements, applicable review standards, and appeal procedures. Visitors can also access the County’s zoning map, zoning code, Comprehensive Plan, and application materials.
